Tyrolean Christmas Carol Concert VI

The present CD ends the Tyrolean Christmas Carol series, of which six CDs are now available. They provide six production concepts, largely developed to perfection in form and content, for meaningful carol presentations with a seasonal atmosphere in the round of pre-Christmas musical events. The project organizer studied the abundance of carols handed down by oral tradition and recently documented. He tried to chose the highest- quality and most effective examples typical for Tyrolean tradition, transcribed them and combined them according to content into a cycle telling the story of Christmas in a richly varied sequence of songs featuring a wide range of sound. Representing a completely new procedure in the cultivation of the folk song, the resulting concerts were rehearsed and performed at the Tiroler Landesmuseum with the best participants available. They were recorded at the same time in order to make them available on CDs to a larger audience.
