Tyrolean Christmas Carol Concert II

The main source for our productions of Tyrolean Christmas Carol concerts is the song heritage of the traditional church singers. Some of their carols are performed in their original form, others in versions carefully adapted to follow the example of the originals and combined in a cycle so as not to be over too quickly when isolated. The selection of the performers, assistance during rehearsals, and even the visual design of the performance are all in the hands of the concert organizer. Thus this kind of songpresentationcanultimately – we hope – develop into a well-balanced, stylistically self-contained form of musical event, providing a model for similar performances outside the Tiroler Landesmuseum. This aim is also served by the recordings made for CDs and the music books made available in parallel. In this way the memory of our concerts can stay alive.
